Govan Docks Regeneration Trust are Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation working to ensure the responsible long-term stewardship of the derelict A-listed Govan graving docks in Glasgow.
We are seeking to appoint a volunteer Chief Executive for an initial 2-year term to lead the organisation through the next steps of its development as we work to secure community ownership of the historic dry dock site; to ensure permanent protection from speculative housing development and benefit to the local economy as a maritime asset.
The role would suit a retired / semi-retired individual with a background in urban planning, marine civil engineering, environmental consulting or infrastructure project management who can spare typically 1-1.5 days per week on a consistent basis.
Experience of dealing with local authority planning departments, government agencies, consultants and diverse venture partners will be a key advantage.
While the role is voluntary fees may be available for specific project oversight subject to the outcomes of funding applications.
Part of the role will include guiding the Trustees in developing the skills needed by the board and helping to define the long-term organisation needs to deliver on our objectives. You will also need to oversee development of a sustainable financial strategy, liaise with key stakeholder partners and help to develop the role / job description that will be required of a permanent CEO.
Interested applicants should contact email@example.com with their CV in the first instance to arrange an informal discussion with the board.
